Horarium / Schedule of Hours

Horarium is a Latin word meaning Hours. In this context, it refers to our regular schedule for celebrating the Eucharist and praying the Liturgy of the Hours -- the official prayer of the Catholic Church. The Liturgy of the Hours, also referred to as the Opus Dei (Work of God) or the Breviary, is based upon the worship schedule of early Benedictine monasteries, as described in the Rule of Benedict. Benedictines base their lives upon this exemplary rule for living.
