About our Community Ministries...

As you can note in our Philsophy Statement, Prayer and Community are our most important ministries; any other work that we do flows from and is an outgrowth of our prayer and communal life. For centuries, Benedictines have been meeting the needs of the Church in a vast array of ministries.

"Our life in the Spirit of Jesus Christ overflows into a life of ministry ... As Benedictine women we feel called to discern and respond to the needs of the Church today ... "

Our primary ministry--

As a Community, we pray together daily at Lauds, Eucharist and Vespers.

"praying, promoting good liturgy, proclaiming God's word, witnessing community...."

From the founding of our Monastery in 1902, our sisters have served in the ministry of education at all levels.

Our resources have been utilized to provide an atmosphere where others can join us in prayer and seeking God through the facilities of the Benedictine Spirituality and Conference Center.

We researched the need and provide moderately priced apartments for independent seniors.

One of our sisters is both a civil and canon lawyer.

" ... We believe that God is here and can be found, and that a diversity of persons bonded into unity shows Christ to a divided world.... "
