Another Renovation

Following the election of the community’s third prioress, Mother Mary Susan, plans for another chapel renovation began.

The gray walls were painted a pale jade green. The vault ribs were painted a pale lavender color. The iron side panels of the baldachino and framework on the side altars were removed. Decorative arches were painted behind the statues of Mary and Joseph. Images from the life of St. Benedict were added above the side aisle arches. All of the old lighting fixtures were removed and replaced by cylindrical ones above the choir stalls and pews which still remain today.
