Our festivities for today’s Feast of St. Benedict were perhaps a bit quieter than usual due to the on-going pandemic circumstances, yet they were no less heart-felt than usual in our expressions of gratitude for our Benedictine heritage. The gift of wisdom that St. Benedict bequeathed to us through his life and his Rule for Monks continue to deepen in each of us as we live it faithfully year by year and as we share and receive wisdom with and from others. Today, our prioress, Sister Tonette Sperando, shared the gift of her wisdom with us in a Feast Day Letter. We share her letter with you here.
A key nugget of wisdom from the letter: “St. Benedict did not first seek to transform the world; instead, he sought first to transform himself.”
