On Saturday, June 10, several Sisters attended the priestly ordination of two monks of our neighboring Benedictines at St. Bernard Abbey. The following day, on Corpus Christi, Fr. Pachomius Alverado, one of the newly-ordained monks celebrated his Mass of Thanksgiving with our community during our Sunday Mass for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. It was a joy to have him, along with many guests of Fr. Pachomius, celebrate this special Mass with us. A celebratory dinner followed, after which Fr. Pachomius offered First Blessings to all both Sisters and guests. Later on the same Sunday, six Sisters attended a Mass and dinner marking the 30th Anniversary of Ordination of Fr. Vernon Huguley at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Birmingham. It was lovely to celebrate with both our brother monks and with diocese all in one weekend.
