In June, the community will host the annual Novice and Director Institute (NADI). This 10-day event is held annually for Novices and Novice Directors from Benedictine communities around the country. The program provides Novices from different communities the opportunity to explore together essential elements of the Benedictine way of life and to share with peers their experiences of living the Rule of Benedict. Concurrently, the Novice Directors engage in peer support and share with other directors on specific topics pertinent to their role of accompanying the Novices on their journey.
Visiting Sacred Heart this week to plan for the program is Sister Mary Colleen (l) of Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado who is serving as Director of this year’s NADI. Sister Karen Ann (r), of our community here in Cullman, will serve as Assistant Director. We are happy to have Sister Mary Colleen with us this week and look forward to the entire NADI group being with us in June.
