Sister Edith received into Transfer Program

Sister EdithSister Edith Bogue, OSB, of St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth, MN, was received into the Transfer Program of Sacred Heart Monastery during Vespers on Saturday, September 25.  The Transfer Program is a structured process by which a Sister makes a transfer from one Religious community to another.  In entering the program, Sister Edith begins a three year period of growing deeper in her connection to her desired community of transfer and continuing discernment of the call of God.  The simple ceremony during Vespers followed a year during which Sister Edith resided at Sacred Heart, getting to know the community and participating in their prayer and work.

In her monastic community in Duluth, Sister Edith served in numerous roles over the years.  Among these were teaching sociology and statistics at the College of St. Scholastica, leading retreats and workshops, and serving within the monastic community as Vocation Director and Oblate Director.  At Sacred Heart, Sister Edith is presently serving as Associate Director of the Retreat Center and participating fully in day-to-day community life. The Sisters are delighted to have Sister Edith in their midst.
