A Season of Listening: Lent (Zoom) Mar. 1 & 29, Apr. 12, 2022

March 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

During the Season of Lent, God invites us to draw closer and deepen our relationship. This three-session retreat helps you listen for God’s voice in a sustained way throughout Lent. The first 90-minute session presents three prayer practices and several methods for capturing and pondering God’s presence and guidance. The second session expands on the prayer practices and offers a chance to learn from each other. The final session moves towards distilling what you have heard and exploring where it might lead next.

Presenter: Sister Edith Bogue, OSB

Sister Edith Bogue, OSB, is a Benedictine sister recently transplanted to Sacred Heart Monastery in Cullman from a monastic community in the Midwest. A sociologist and social worker by training, she has also served as oblate and vocation director. A retreat leader and spiritual director, she joined the staff of the Benedictine Sisters Retreat Center in July 2021.

Cost $40.00

  • Centering Prayer is a form of Christian prayer rooted in the ancient Christian contemplative tradition. Its purpose is to foster a deeper intimacy with Christ through the silence and stillness of contemplative prayer. This time of pandemic has led many to seek to deepen their relationship with God through this wordless prayer of contemplation. This weekend retreat is designed for those new to Centering Prayer. The participants will keep silence for the weekend, but there will be opportunities for questions and discussion about the practice. To register, please select ONE of the following options.
