Resilience: Coping Spiritually and Emotionally During Time of Pandemic (online retreat)

The COVID-19 pandemic has had profound spiritual and psychological impact. It seems no one has been spared some impact, and many are hurting. For help in coping with the spiritual and emotional impacts of the pandemic we are hosting a two-hour online program led by professional counselors who specialize in grief support and coping with loss. They will offer insights and share practical ways that can help participants cope with the spiritual and emotional impact of the pandemic.
Leaders:
Rev. Steve Sweatt – Steve is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 35 years of experience. He directs programs and services at Community Grief Support in Birmingham where he provides individual, couples, and group counseling and supervises the agency’s contract counselors and volunteers. He is an experienced bereavement counselor and family therapist, among other specializations, and hold a Master of Education degree in Community and Agency Counseling and a Master of Divinity Degree in Psychology of Religion and Pastoral Counseling.
Jan Owen – Jan is a counselor with Community Grief Support in Birmingham. As a specialist in grief and bereavement care, Jan brings almost twenty years of experience in pastoral care, leadership development, team building, volunteer management, and teaching to her work as a counselor. She recently opened Back Porch Counseling to help loss survivors in Huntsville and the North Alabama area.
